However, as Jim Charron, CEO of Avion Energy Group, recalls, traversing the path to success has had its challenges.
During its initial days, given the limited seats big players in the energy supply business had for brokers, Avion Energy Group had to prove its capability to bring in clients. It also took on the task of creating the technology and competitive platform to become a strong contender in the energy supply market. By developing the platform, Avion Energy attracted the largest network of energy suppliers willing to compete for the energy supply needs of their clients.
Despite the slower progress in the early years, Avion Energy Group’s hard work paid off in its fifth year of operation by finalizing a broker contract with the number one supplier in the U.S. This new broker relationship helped Avion Energy gain traction and expand its nationwide reach.
Today, Avion Energy Group is at the forefront of delivering best pricing for electricity and natural gas to commercial energy clients. As a national energy broker with over 88 contractual relationships with qualified energy suppliers in the deregulated U.S. markets, they are known for the very extensive job of bidding and comparing all available prices in an apples-to-apples comparison for their clients.
“Our core focus from the get-go has been representing our clients, not energy supply companies. We negotiate on their behalf in securing the best price and act as their advocate in resolving any issues that arise between our client and the energy supplier,” states Charron.

Clients select the energy supplier best suited to their needs, and Avion Energy Group helps prepare all the documents for approval. Avion Energy will assist in the management of the contract, keeping the client informed regarding when the energy supplier accepts the signed agreement, auditing the first billing statement to ensure the correct rate is billed, and 90 days before contract expiration, they will start the process again for the next contract cycle.
“We take a one-on-one consultative approach where all client questions are welcome. Our staff is extremely qualified in the energy procurement process. Most of them have been with us since the beginning and they are the reason for our success.
We receive market intel from all the major energy suppliers on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, giving us a broader perspective on factors impacting pricing, regulatory compliance issues, energy-saving technologies, and initiatives for a greener energy future,” states Charron.
Avion Energy Group emphasizes educating clients on ways to consume less energy and increase energy savings. For this, it has evaluated many energy-saving technologies and created strategic partnerships with third-party firms that offer energy savings as a service, ultimately assisting clients toward a greener future.
